Chain Breakers Recovery Group in Pittsfield

PITTSFIELD, Ill. — Sometimes the most important thing a community can offer someone who is struggling is a place where they know they aren't alone.

That's the idea behind Chain Breakers Recovery Group, a Pittsfield-area organization helping people struggling with addiction find encouragement, understanding and a path toward rebuilding their lives.

The group uses a peer-to-peer support approach built around the principles of 12-step recovery. Participants are encouraged to share their experiences, support one another and work toward lasting recovery in an atmosphere of understanding rather than judgment.

Chain Breakers has been part of the Pike County community for several years, providing a local support network for individuals dealing with addiction. Its work also extends into community awareness and advocacy.

Chuck Reed, who is associated with Chain Breakers, has spoken before the Pike County Board about the dangers of addictive substances and the importance of addressing substance abuse locally.

For individuals and families affected by addiction, having people nearby who understand those struggles can make a meaningful difference. Recovery is rarely an easy journey, and support from others who have traveled a similar road can provide encouragement during difficult times.

Chain Breakers represents something worth celebrating in a small community: neighbors helping neighbors, people offering second chances, and the belief that someone's past does not have to determine their future.

Those interested in learning more about the organization, its activities or opportunities to participate can find the Chain Breakers group on Facebook.

Because nobody should have to face recovery alone.
