PITTSFIELD — The Pike County Historical Society will open its museum sites for the 2026 season this weekend, with hours set for Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3 from noon to 4 p.m.

The society operates multiple museum locations in Pittsfield, including the East School Museum on East Washington Street, along with additional historic buildings and exhibits located near the Pike County Courthouse square.

Visitors can expect several new exhibits this year, including items from the Kiser, Kelly, Hunter and Thrall collections. New displays also feature Nebo High School memorabilia from the Goltz and Franklin families, expanded Pittsfield Speedway photos and information from the Yaeger family, and a trophy collection from Pikeland.

A new research resource will also be available this season, featuring one-room school records.

Officials noted that the East School location will be closed on Mother’s Day.
