CARROLLTON — A Greene County man has been sentenced to prison after admitting to leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase through White Hall.

Greene County State’s Attorney Craig Grummel announced that 37-year-old Corey L. Roth was sentenced April 27 in Greene County Circuit Court after pleading guilty to aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer. A judge ordered Roth to serve 24 months in the Illinois Department of Corrections, with the sentence running at the same time as two separate Adams County cases.

The charge stems from a January 24, 2025 incident in which Roth fled from police after being signaled to stop. Authorities say he drove a Chevrolet SUV at speeds more than 35 miles per hour over the posted limit while attempting to evade officers in White Hall.

Officials say the case highlights the dangers of fleeing law enforcement, noting that such actions put both officers and the public at serious risk. The investigation involved cooperation between Carrollton and White Hall police departments.
