PITTSFIELD — Pikeland CUSD #10 is informing parents that Miles of Smiles, Ltd. will be providing preventive dental services at school for eligible students in all grades.
According to information shared by the district, services may include a dental exam or screening by a licensed dentist or certified public health dental hygienist, cleaning, fluoride varnish application, and sealant placement if needed.
The program supports school sealant initiatives designed to reduce oral disease and improve children’s dental health. It also satisfies the State of Illinois dental examination requirement for students in Kindergarten, 2nd, 6th, and 9th grades.
There is no cost to families or the school. After services are provided, billing may be directed to Illinois Medicaid, public or private grants, or private dental insurance when applicable. Families and schools are not billed for co-payments, deductibles, or balances.
Parents interested in enrolling their child can complete the printed form sent home or follow the online instructions provided by the district.
