WHITE HALL MAN SENTENCED IN TWO GREENE COUNTY FELONY CASES FOLLOWING EARLIER PRISON TERM
CARROLLTON, IL — A 23-year-old White Hall man has been sentenced to four years in the Illinois Department of Corrections following guilty pleas in two Greene County felony cases involving incidents that took place four days apart in Roodhouse.

Hunter E. Neff pleaded guilty Wednesday, October 21, to aggravated battery and criminal damage to property. The convictions stem from a confrontation at a Roodhouse restaurant and damage to a convenience store entrance earlier this year.
Greene County State's Attorney Craig Grummel said the aggravated battery case arose from an April 5, 2026, incident at Two Dogs Bar and Grill in Roodhouse. Neff admitted to slamming another person to the ground during the encounter.
Four days later, on April 9, Neff was arrested in connection with damage to the front door of Casey's in Roodhouse. That separate incident resulted in the criminal damage to property charge to which he also pleaded guilty.
The aggravated battery conviction is a Class 3 felony and the criminal damage to property conviction is a Class 4 felony. Circuit Judge Zachary Schmidt imposed the prison sentence Wednesday.
EARLIER PRISON SENTENCE
The latest convictions follow an earlier Greene County case. According to previous court reporting, Neff pleaded guilty in September 2025 to a charge involving driving while his license was revoked and received a one-year Illinois Department of Corrections sentence.
Grummel said the previous, shorter prison sentence had failed to persuade Neff to change his course. The April 2026 incidents occurred roughly seven months after the earlier sentencing.
WHAT REMAINS UNCLEAR
The available public reporting does not establish whether the sentences associated with the two new felony cases are to be served concurrently or consecutively. RiverNewsLive is not treating the two cases as an eight-year total without the sentencing orders.
Neither the extent of the battery victim's injuries nor the amount of damage to the Casey's entrance was specified in the available reports. Grummel credited the Roodhouse Police Department for its work in the investigations.
Both new felony cases were resolved through Neff's guilty pleas on October 21. RiverNewsLive will update this report if additional sentencing documents or case details become available.
