BOWLING GREEN, Mo. — Bowling Green police say an armed robbery suspect was taken into custody following a neighborhood search and foot pursuit after a violent robbery incident in the city last week.

According to a press release from the Bowling Green Police Department, officers responded Wednesday night after a victim reported being confronted by an unknown male suspect wearing a black ski mask and gloves. Police said the suspect displayed a

Glock-style handgun with an extended magazine before stealing the victim’s cellphone, cash, and even the victim’s shoes.

Investigators quickly developed a description of the suspect vehicle and entered it into the department’s Flock camera database system, which helped officers locate the vehicle at a residence believed connected to the suspect.

Police said officers initially searched the property but did not locate the suspect. While that search was underway, Pike County 911 received a report of someone running through a nearby yard. Responding officers tracked the suspect to a nearby residence, where authorities obtained consent to search the home.

The suspect was found inside and taken into custody without incident.

Police have not yet released the suspect’s identity, and investigators say the case remains active with additional information expected.
