Boyd Memorial’s Planned White Hall Clinic Opening Likely Pushed Into 2027

WHITE HALL, Ill. — Boyd Memorial Hospital is continuing plans for a new clinic in White Hall, but the project’s opening is now likely being pushed back.

The clinic is planned for Third Avenue and Olive Street in White Hall. Hospital officials say the project was originally expected to open in 2026, but that timeline may now move into 2027 as Boyd works to finalize financing before construction begins.

The new White Hall clinic was announced in 2025 as a replacement for Boyd’s current clinic space in Roodhouse. Hospital officials have said the Roodhouse location no longer has enough room for current needs.

Plans for the White Hall clinic call for a larger, more modern facility with room for at least two full-time providers and a full-time walk-in clinic. Boyd officials say the project is not expected to expand services so much as move existing care into a better facility with more space.

Hospital representatives say the clinic would improve access for Greene County residents, especially those who have difficulty traveling to Carrollton or Jacksonville for care.

The estimated cost of the project has been around two million dollars. Boyd Memorial Hospital has received local grant support from White Hall and the Illinois Farm Bureau, but officials say securing the remaining funding has been slower than expected.

There is not yet a firm construction start date, but hospital officials say they still hope work can begin this summer if financing is finalized.
