CALHOUN COUNTY — A man arrested in Calhoun County on child sex crime allegations is now in federal custody and could face deportation.
Authorities have identified the defendant as Orlin Guevara-Ulloa, who was taken into custody last week on charges including indecent solicitation of a child, solicitation to meet a child, and grooming.
Officials have released limited details about the case, but confirmed that the Calhoun County State’s Attorney’s Office is working alongside federal prosecutors as the case moves forward. Guevara-Ulloa has since been transferred into federal custody, where additional charges could be filed.
If convicted at the federal level, officials say deportation is also a possibility.
Calhoun County State’s Attorney Lucas Fanning praised the quick work of the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office in responding to the case and making the arrest.
The investigation remains ongoing.
