Roberta Lynn Ballinger, 75, of New Salem, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2026.

She was born July 5, 1950, and was raised in New Salem. Roberta graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1968 and later married David Ballinger on September 2, 1977. Together, they raised five children.

Roberta spent much of her working life serving the community, managing P. N. Hirsch and Dollar General before working for 25 years preparing taxes at H&R Block. Many of her clients became longtime friends, and she valued those relationships deeply. She was a longtime member of the New Salem Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, David Ballinger; her children, Chris Horton, Michael Ballinger, Terry Ballinger, Alisha Ballinger, and Daniel Ballinger; along with grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family members.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 20, at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home located at 530 West Adams in Pittsfield. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Gray Cemetery, outside of New Salem.
