LOUISIANA — A community Black history program titled “A Taste of Blackness” will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the Keely Center in Louisiana, Missouri.

The event is being presented by the Northeast Missouri Clergy Coalition and is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Keely Center, located at 3523 Georgia Street. Organizers say the program is open to the public and designed to highlight Black history through voices and perspectives from within the local community.

A free soul food dinner will be served beginning at 12:00 p.m., following the conclusion of the program.

This year’s speakers are described as coming directly from the community and include representatives from several churches and organizations. Listed speakers include Jada Irving of Centennial UMC in Elsberry, Mcaylee McPike of Maryland Street Baptist Church in Louisiana, and MeShawn Marshall of Bethel AME in Paynesville. The keynote speaker for the event will be Charnissa Holliday-Scott, an attorney at law based in Kansas City, Missouri.

Organizers are asking those planning to attend to RSVP to help with event planning. RSVPs can be made by contacting Rev. Charlie R. Wright, Sr. at 573-470-1075.

Community members of all backgrounds are invited to attend.
