FEED A FARMER PROGRAM RETURNS TO CALHOUN COUNTY DURING HARVEST
Updated: Sep 30

HARDIN, Ill. — Country Financial’s annual Feed a Farmer program is returning during the fall harvest, with a Calhoun County event scheduled for October 12 as farmers work through one of the busiest stretches of the year.
Country Financial representatives will partner with county farm bureaus, FFA chapters and other agricultural organizations around Illinois to provide meals to farmers. Depending on the location, meals will either be available at a central site or delivered directly to farmers working in the fields.
In Calhoun County, sack lunches will be available beginning at 4 p.m. October 12 at Jersey County Grain, 819 South Park Street in Hardin. Similar Feed a Farmer events are planned in several other west-central Illinois communities during October.
Organizers say the program is intended as a simple show of appreciation for farmers during harvest, when long hours and changing weather can make it difficult to stop for a meal. Country Financial says the events also give local agricultural organizations an opportunity to support producers during the culmination of months of work in the fields.
