LOUISIANA — The City of Louisiana is expected to see a major economic boost following the sale of the former Press Journal Printing facility on Georgia Street, a development that could bring dozens of new full-time jobs to the community.

According to newly sworn-in Ward 1 City Council member Woodrow Polston, the industrial property has been sold to a company planning to employ between 40 and 60 full-time workers. Polston shared the update publicly, calling the sale “great news for Louisiana” and indicating that additional details will be released as they become available.

While the buyer has not yet been publicly identified, materials circulated in connection with the property describe it as a modern industrial and flex facility located at 3650 West Industrial Drive. The site features extensive warehouse space, multiple loading docks, drive-in access, rail proximity, and infrastructure designed to support large-scale operations and workforce needs.

City officials say the transaction represents a significant step forward for Louisiana’s industrial corridor and reflects continued interest in the area’s central location and transportation access. Local leaders have emphasized job creation and economic development as key priorities, particularly opportunities that bring stable employment to Pike County.

Further announcements regarding the company, timeline, and specific job opportunities are expected in the coming weeks.
