ILLINOIS 99 BRIDGE REPAIRS BEGIN THURSDAY IN PIKE COUNTY

PIKE COUNTY, Ill. — A bridge improvement project on Illinois Route 99 over the McKee drainage ditch near the Illinois Route 104 intersection is scheduled to begin Thursday, October 1.
The Illinois Department of Transportation says the project will include deck resurfacing, bridge painting and other repairs intended to extend the life of the structure and provide a smoother driving surface.
Lane closures will be required during construction. A maximum vehicle width of 10 feet, 6 inches will be in effect, and advance signs and temporary traffic signals will direct vehicles across the bridge. Drivers approaching the signals are being instructed to remain in their lane to the signal stop bar and proceed as directed.
IDOT expects the work to be completed during the current construction season. Motorists should expect delays, consider alternate routes when practical, watch for changed traffic conditions and workers, and obey posted work-zone restrictions.
