MAY DAYS TO HELP FIRE VICTIMS

MEREDOSIA — A weekend of community celebration in Meredosia will also serve a bigger purpose this year, as proceeds from portions of the annual May Days festival will go toward helping a local family who lost their home in an April 21 fire. Organizers say the event begins Friday evening with a pageant at Meredosia-Chambersburg High School, where freewill donations for food will directly support Jacob Brown and his family as they work to rebuild after losing everything in the fire.

Festival activities continue Saturday at Boyd Park, featuring a full day of events including a flea market, parade, food vendors, live music, and expanded carnival rides.

Organizers say one major change this year is that rides will be free for attendees, removing cost barriers and making the event more accessible for families across the community.

Event leaders say the goal is to both grow the festival and strengthen community support, especially for families in need, as Meredosia continues to rally around those impacted by recent hardship.
