BOWLING GREEN — Pike County youth will have the opportunity to showcase their talents, interests, and project knowledge later this month during Pike County 4-H Achievement Day, an annual event designed to build confidence, presentation skills, and personal development in a supportive environment.
The event will take place Saturday, February 22, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the Bowling Green High School Auditorium, with participant check-in beginning at 2:45 p.m. The program is hosted through University of Missouri Extension and Pike County 4-H and is open to all Pike County 4-H members, including Clover Kids.
4-H Achievement Day allows participants to step outside their comfort zones by
presenting projects, demonstrations, and ideas in front of judges and an audience. Youth receive constructive feedback from judges, earn ribbons and awards for their efforts, and top finishers may qualify to present their projects at the Missouri State Fair.
Event categories include Personal Development, Table Settings, Collections, Demonstrations, and Public Speaking, offering a wide range of opportunities for members with different interests and skill levels. Organizers say the event focuses not only on competition, but also on learning, encouragement, and growth.
To help participants prepare, a Pre-Night is scheduled for Sunday, February 8, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Extension Office. The session will provide guidance on what to expect at Achievement Day and how to prepare successful presentations. Additional preparation resources are available through the Achievement Day Guide.
Registration for the event is free. Online registration is preferred and is due by February 19, though day-of sign-ups will also be accepted. Families with questions or needing assistance can contact kileyandersen@missouri.edu.
Organizers encourage families and community members to attend and support local youth as they develop leadership, communication, and life skills through the 4-H program.
