Simpson, 29, of Barry, was taken into custody on January 28 for violating an order of protection, a charge that stems from allegations of domestic-related misconduct, and was released the following day. In another major arrest, J.W. Monroe Stewart, 35, of Mt. Sterling, was arrested February 1 on a charge of driving under the influence, with authorities reporting a .174 blood alcohol concentration, more than twice the legal limit; he was released later the same day. Other individuals were jailed primarily on court-related matters such as body attachments and failure to appear, which were not categorized as new criminal offenses during this reporting period.
