LOUISIANA — The City of Louisiana has announced a list of street upgrades and repair projects scheduled for Summer 2026, continuing a multi-year effort to improve roadway conditions across several neighborhoods.
City officials say the projects include a mix of streets approved for work in 2025 and 2026, with repairs targeting areas identified through ongoing street evaluations and infrastructure planning. The work is divided into two categories, commonly referred to as “yellow roads” and “green roads,” based on their approval timeline.
Streets approved in 2025 and slated for improvement include:
20th Street from Georgia Street to South Carolina Street
22nd Street from Georgia Street to South Carolina Street
South Carolina Street from 20th Street to 26th Street
Haley Street from Kentucky Street to Georgia Street
North 30th Street from Tennessee Street to the dead end
Iowa Street from LaCompton Street to South A Street
Additional streets approved in 2026 are also scheduled for work during the summer construction season. Those include:
23rd Street from Georgia Street to the dead end
24th Street from Georgia Street to the dead end
North Carolina Street from 23rd Street to 26th Street
26th Street from Georgia Street to North Carolina Street
25th Street from South Carolina Street to the dead end
City officials say the street projects are intended to improve driving conditions, extend the lifespan of local roadways, and address long-standing maintenance needs. Residents in affected areas are encouraged to watch for construction updates and temporary traffic impacts as the projects move forward.
Additional details, including timelines and contractor information, are expected to be released closer to the start of construction.
