TWIN PIKES HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS ROUNDUP — TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29
Updated: Sep 30

TWIN PIKES — Tuesday night produced a solid slate of high school action across the RiverNewsLive coverage area, with three straight-set volleyball wins on the Illinois side and a pair of close softball victories in northeast Missouri.
ILLINOIS VOLLEYBALL
Greenfield/Northwestern swept Pleasant Hill in Western Illinois Valley Conference play, winning 25-13 and 25-16. Barry Western also picked up a straight-set victory, edging Mendon Unity 26-24 in a tight opening set before taking the second 25-22. Carrollton completed another WIVC sweep by defeating Jacksonville Routt 25-14 and 25-16.
A Griggsville-Perry at Brown County conference match was also on Tuesday’s schedule, but a verified final had not been posted in the sources checked Wednesday morning, so RiverNewsLive is leaving that score out rather than publishing an unconfirmed result.
MISSOURI SOFTBALL
Clopton earned a 5-3 win over Mark Twain, improving to 7-10. Skyler Wilson led the Hawks with two hits, two stolen bases and a run scored as Clopton handed Mark Twain a rare road loss.
Bowling Green pulled out a 9-8 victory over Wright City in a back-and-forth conference game. The Bobcats scored four runs in the first inning and added three more in the seventh to secure the one-run win, improving to 8-11 on the season.
RiverNewsLive also checked the Tuesday schedule for Louisiana and other area programs, but no additional verified finals were available at publication time. We’ll continue updating local high school results as schools and the state associations post official scores.
