NEW LONDON, Mo. —

STORY UPDATE: Gavin Davis of New London, age 21 is facing charges of unlawful use of a weapon, first-degree assault causing serious physical injury and armed criminal action.

Two people are recovering after a shooting early Friday morning at a New London bar, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Authorities say the incident happened just before 1 a.m. at Tubby’s Grub and Pub after reports of a man causing a disturbance inside the business. The individual was removed from the bar and left the scene, but later returned and fired multiple shots through the door, striking two people inside.

The victims were transported to area hospitals with injuries that are believed to be non-life-threatening. Law enforcement officials confirmed that one suspect is in custody, though the individual’s name has not been released.

The Ralls County Sheriff’s Office, New London Police Department, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol are all involved in the investigation, with the Highway Patrol leading the case. Authorities have indicated there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The investigation remains in its early stages, and officials say additional information will be released as it becomes available.
