PALMYRA, Mo. — Two people were injured, one seriously, in a two-vehicle crash Monday evening on U.S. 61 about two miles south of Palmyra.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the crash happened at approximately 5:15 p.m. September 28. Investigators say an eastbound 2016 Chevrolet Silverado driven by an 81-year-old Palmyra man failed to yield to a southbound 2014 Chevrolet Captiva driven by a 24-year-old Hannibal woman. The Captiva struck the left side of the Silverado.
A 26-year-old Hannibal man riding in the Silverado suffered serious injuries and was flown to University Hospital in Columbia. The 24-year-old Hannibal woman suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Hannibal Regional Hospital. The 81-year-old Palmyra driver was not injured.
The Marion County Sheriff's Office and Palmyra Fire Department assisted the Missouri State Highway Patrol at the scene.
