Brown County Sheriff’s Report Includes U.S. 24 Injury Crash, Deer Crash And Citation

MT. STERLING, Ill. — The Brown County Sheriff’s Office has released its latest activity report, covering incidents from June 1 through June 14.


The report includes a traffic crash on June 1 involving Robert L. Laning of Mt. Sterling and Nathaniel P. Bowman. Authorities say Laning was traveling north on 1200 North when he pulled out in front of Bowman, who was traveling west on U.S. 24.


Bowman was transported to Culbertson Memorial Hospital by Brown County EMS. The sheriff’s office did not list additional injury information in the report.


The activity report also lists a June 11 deer crash involving Cody N. Tunget of Pittsfield. Authorities say Tunget struck a deer on Illinois 107 at County Road 830 North.


One citation was also listed in the report. On June 14, Joseph R. Fuller of Pekin was cited for operating a motor vehicle with suspended registration, second offense. The citation was issued in the area of U.S. 24 and Brown County High School.


The sheriff’s office notes that unless otherwise stated, traffic accidents listed in the report involved no injuries and vehicle damage of more than fifteen-hundred dollars.
