RALLS COUNTY, MISSOURI — A Ralls County deputy is being recognized for his bravery after putting himself in danger to help stop a fleeing semi-truck on Christmas Day.

Sheriff Brian Allen announced that Deputy Jayden Sutton was presented with a commendation during a County Commission meeting this week for his actions on December 25, 2025.

According to the sheriff, Sutton deployed stop sticks along Highway 19 in Center as part of an effort to stop a semi-truck that was fleeing from the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The move required the deputy to place himself in a dangerous position in order to bring the pursuit to a safe conclusion.

Sheriff Allen praised Sutton’s actions, saying the commendation reflects both his courage and dedication to public safety.

The sheriff also recognized the broader efforts of the department, stating he is proud of all Ralls County deputies for the work they do each day to keep the community safe.
