LOUISIANA, MO — A major milestone in local Scouting history is being celebrated as Julian Taylor Ham earns the rank of Eagle Scout, becoming the first female in the area to achieve Scouting’s highest honor.
Only about 6 to 7 percent of Scouts ever reach the Eagle Scout rank, making the accomplishment especially significant. Julian completed the journey in just three years, showing exceptional dedication, leadership, and commitment to the values of Scouting.
Because Louisiana did not yet have an all-girl troop at the time, Julian participated in Palmyra Troop 2309. Today, she continues to give back locally, serving as Assistant Scout Master for Louisiana Troop 156 and helping guide the next generation of Scouts.
Julian says she hopes her achievement will inspire both young men and women to get involved in Scouting and discover the opportunities it provides.
The community is invited to celebrate this achievement at Julian’s Eagle Scout Court of Honor on Saturday, April 11 at 1 p.m. at the Louisiana Scout House, located at 122 South 22nd Street in Louisiana, Missouri.
