CARROLLTON — The Greene County Health Department is calling on volunteers to take part in a countywide clean-up effort as part of Earth Day activities next month.
The event is scheduled for April 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with volunteers working to clean up roadsides and public areas across Greene County. The initiative is aimed at improving local environments while encouraging community involvement.
Organizers say volunteers of all ages are welcome, and all necessary supplies will be provided, including gloves, trash bags, and water. Participants will also receive a free T-shirt as a thank-you for their efforts.
The health department is also seeking sponsors to help offset the cost of shirts and materials needed for the event.
Those interested in participating can register online through the Greene County Health Department website or contact the department directly for more information.
Officials say the event is a great opportunity for residents to make a visible impact in their communities while celebrating Earth Day.
