LOUISIANA — The City of Louisiana will begin routine hydrant flushing across the city starting Monday.

City officials say hydrant flushing will begin March 16 and will start on the east side of town, gradually moving west until the process is completed.

The maintenance work is conducted periodically to help maintain water quality and ensure fire hydrants are operating properly.

During the flushing process, residents may notice temporary water discoloration or reduced water pressure. If discoloration occurs, city officials recommend running cold water until it clears.

Officials say the work is part of regular system maintenance and appreciate residents’ patience while the flushing is underway.

Anyone with questions can contact Louisiana City Hall at 573-754-4592.
