LOUISIANA — The Louisiana City Council reviewed the city’s finalized 2026-2027 operating budget during its regular monthly business meeting on May 26, with a final vote now scheduled for Friday.
Mayor Mark Haddock called the meeting to order before council members heard several updates, including a presentation from Enterprise Director Clinton Keller.
Keller explained how the city’s Badger water meter system works and also discussed the Enterprise budget with council members and the public.
City Administrator Cameron Carlyle later presented the finalized 2026-2027 operating budget. Carlyle thanked the budget committee and others involved in the process, noting that a balanced budget was reached after seven meetings and many hours of work. City officials said difficult decisions were required to address shortfalls while preparing the spending plan.
The council is expected to meet again Friday to vote on the finalized budget.
Council members also unanimously approved Resolution No. 15-2026, authorizing the city to file an application with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources State Revolving Fund Program for loans under the Missouri Safe Drinking Water Law.
In other business, the council approved Resolution No. 16-2026, authorizing the Louisiana Tourism Commission to enter into a contract with Lamar Advertising for billboard advertising services.
