LOUISIANA — Vendors preparing for the upcoming Farmers Market season in Pike County, Missouri are invited to attend an informational meeting next week as the Louisiana Community Betterment Association gets ready to kick off its annual market.

The LCBA Farmers Market vendor meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 8th at 5:30 p.m. and will be held at “It’s So Good” restaurant located at 123 South 3rd Street in Louisiana. Organizers say the meeting is open to all current and prospective vendors interested in participating in this year’s market.

The LCBA Farmers Market operates as a producer-only market, meaning vendors must sell items they have grown or produced themselves. During the meeting, applications for the upcoming season will be available along with additional information about participating in the market.

Several resources will also be on hand to assist vendors. A representative from Weights and Measures will be available to check vendor scales, while Stephanie Davis with the Pike County Health Department will provide updates on recent changes involving the sale of honey.

Organizers say the meeting is an important opportunity for vendors to get prepared for the season and ensure they are in compliance with all current guidelines before the market opens.
