LOUISIANA, Mo. — A Louisiana property investor has been recognized for helping restore a once-deteriorated home and contributing to neighborhood revitalization efforts in the city.

The Louisiana Community Betterment Association presented its Beautification Award on May 11 to Ivan Malpica for renovation work completed at 708 South Carolina Street.

According to the association, the property had suffered significant structural deterioration, including collapse in the rear portion of the home, but the core structure remained salvageable. Malpica moved forward with a full restoration project, with construction work completed by Fidencio Delgado Construction, LLC.

The renovated property is now being used as a sober living ministry, with Jim Boone serving as house director.

Association leaders said Malpica has also invested in additional Louisiana properties, including other homes and the trailer park on the north end of town, with a focus on improving housing conditions and expanding affordable rental opportunities.

Malpica said strong demand for rental housing in Louisiana and his appreciation for the community helped drive the investment decision.
