LOUISIANA — Street paving work is now underway across multiple areas of Louisiana, with city officials warning residents to expect delays as crews move through the schedule over the coming weeks.
According to a public memorandum, paving began Tuesday and will continue throughout the week, impacting several streets including 20th, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th, and North Carolina Street, along with sections of Hailey Street and North 30th Street. Some areas will be worked from Georgia Street to dead ends, while others will see full stretches resurfaced between major cross streets.
In addition to paving, the Louisiana Water Department will be performing water main and patch work in the same areas, including work along Georgia Street from 18th to 20th.
City officials are asking residents to plan for longer-than-normal travel times and to avoid Georgia Street when possible during the construction period. The work is part of ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure throughout the community.
Residents with questions about the project are encouraged to contact City Hall for more information.
