BOWLING GREEN, MO — A major investment in services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is moving forward in Pike County, Missouri, after the Pike County Agency for Developmental Disabilities project was officially funded. The funding will allow PCADD, in partnership with the City of Bowling Green, to construct a new Developmental Support Center and renovate the agency’s existing facility.
Local leaders say the project will significantly expand services for residents across Pike County, addressing long-standing space limitations and improving accessibility. The planned improvements are expected to reduce overcrowding, modernize program areas, and create safer, more welcoming environments for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and the staff who support them.
PCADD has served Pike County for decades, providing essential programs and supports designed to help individuals with disabilities live fuller, more independent lives. Services offered through PCADD include developmental training, life-skills support, and community-based programming aimed at promoting independence, inclusion, and personal growth. The agency works closely with families, caregivers, and local partners to ensure services are tailored to individual needs while remaining accessible to residents throughout the county.
Officials say the new Developmental Support Center will allow PCADD to better meet current demand while also planning for future growth as needs increase. Renovations to the existing facility will improve safety, accessibility, and functionality, ensuring that both buildings can be used effectively to support a wide range of programs and services.
