PITTSFIELD, Ill. — Pike County, Illinois Clerk and Recorder Natalie Roseberry says she is withdrawing her candidacy for re-election in the November 2026 election.
Roseberry announced the decision Tuesday in a statement to the citizens of Pike County. She said serving as County Clerk and Recorder has been one of the greatest honors of her life, but after careful consideration, she has decided not to continue her re-election campaign. Roseberry said she will continue serving out the remainder of her current term.
In her statement, Roseberry said public service has been more than a job, but said there are moments when leadership requires recognizing when it is time to embrace a new opportunity and allow others to continue the work. She also pointed to the increasing complexity of county government and the need for transparency, collaboration, and confidence in shared financial information.
Roseberry said during her time in office, Pike County modernized services, improved access to public records, strengthened election administration, secured grant funding, enhanced transparency, and expanded public access to information. She credited office employees and citizens for helping support those efforts.
Roseberry also urged residents to remain engaged in local government by attending meetings, reading source documents, reviewing public records, and asking questions directly. She said she hopes Pike County leaders will continue working toward collaboration and trust for the benefit of the public.
