PIKE COUNTY, IL — Several individuals were taken into custody across Pike County over the past week, with domestic-related offenses among the most serious charges reported.

According to the Pike County Sheriff’s Department, Justin Lee Thomas Burse, 45, of Pleasant Hill was arrested on a domestic violence charge. In a separate case, Nathanial R. Plue, 23, of Griggsville was taken into custody for domestic battery.

Authorities also report that Ronald N. Smith, 68, of Hardin was booked into custody on a hold for Calhoun County involving a domestic battery-related case.

Officials say the arrests reflect ongoing efforts to address domestic-related incidents in the region. Other arrests during the reporting period involved procedural matters such as warrants and court-related issues, which are not considered major offenses.

All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
