PITTSFIELD — The Pike County Sheriff’s Department reported multiple warrant-related arrests and at least one aggravated battery charge among inmates booked into the

Pike County Jail between February 23 and March 1.

According to the weekly incarceration report, the majority of arrests during the reporting period involved failure to appear warrants issued by Pike County and other jurisdictions. Several individuals were also being held for neighboring counties, including Morgan, Schuyler and Cass counties.

Among the more serious charges listed was aggravated battery in a public place filed by the Pittsfield Police Department against Joseph E. Teel, 52, of Kinderhook. Jail records show Teel was also wanted on a warrant for failure to appear.

Stephanie R. Guthrie, 41, of Pleasant Hill, was booked March 1 on charges that include possession of adult-use cannabis in a motor vehicle and possession of a controlled substance.

Other arrests during the reporting period included Timothy R. Whitaker, 57, who was wanted in Calhoun County, and Jaron M. Mathena, 30, who was being held on warrants from multiple jurisdictions.

The majority of remaining bookings were tied to failure to appear warrants or body attachment orders issued by local courts.

All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
