Pike County, IL Sheriff Reports Drug, DUI, and Domestic Violence Arrests in Weekly Jail Log

PITTSFIELD — The Pike County Sheriff’s Office and local police agencies released their weekly arrest report covering February 2 through February 8, 2026, with several serious felony-level and violent offenses highlighted alongside multiple failure-to-appear and warrant arrests.
Among the most significant cases, William E. Potter, 35, of Louisiana, Missouri, was arrested by the Pike County Sheriff on February 5 on multiple charges, including possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and an equipment violation. Potter was released the following day.
Two serious domestic violence cases were also reported during the week. Noah R. Leon, 18, of Pittsfield, was taken into custody on February 5 by the Pike County Sheriff on a charge of aggravated domestic battery involving strangulation, a felony offense under Illinois law. He remained confined at the time of the report. In a separate case, Jaden C. Westemeyer, 18, of Pittsfield, was arrested on February 6 by the Pittsfield Police Department on a charge of domestic battery and was still confined.
Another domestic-related offense involved Amy J. Shaffer, 40, of Griggsville, who was arrested on February 3 by the Pike County Sheriff for violation of an order of protection. She was released the following day.
Law enforcement also reported multiple DUI and drug-related arrests. John D. Plattner, 56, of Pittsfield, was arrested on February 5 by the Pittsfield Police Department on two counts of DUI alcohol and was released the same day. Antonio A. Lesears, 31, of Kansas City, Missouri, was arrested by Illinois State Police on February 3 for possession of adult-use cannabis by a driver, along with driving while suspended and no insurance; he was released the same day.
In addition, several individuals were taken into custody on failure-to-appear and warrant-related offenses, including Shawn M. McKenzie, 44, of Cuba, Missouri; Linda King, 50, of Baylis; Dalton E.J. Wellman, 28, of Mexico, Missouri; Steven Brock Sappington, 32, of Barry; Ruan L. Perrin, 46, of Quincy; Brittany J. Ramey, 34, of Hannibal, Missouri; and Brian S. Ellis, 53, also of Hannibal. Charges in those cases ranged from body attachment failures to appear to warranted failures to appear for arraignment or review hearings.
All individuals listed in the arrest report are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. The Pike County Sheriff’s Office notes that arrest records reflect charges at the time of booking and may be updated as cases proceed through the judicial system.
