PITTSFIELD — Pike County voters will head to the polls Tuesday to decide several key county offices, including five seats on the Pike County Board.

The election comes after months of public discussion surrounding county finances and disagreements among board members over budget issues.

Eight candidates are running for the five available seats on the Republican ballot. Incumbents Reta Hoskin, Tom Lewis, Andy Borrowman and Mark Mountain are seeking election along with challengers Chris Lanhum, Evan Ralph, Gena Hoaglin and Pike County Sheriff David Greenwood.

Some voters say they are hoping to see stronger financial oversight from county leadership moving forward.

In addition to the county board race, voters will also decide the Republican nomination for Pike County Treasurer. Incumbent Scott Syrcle is facing challenger Susan Pitchford in that contest.

Several other county offices will appear on the ballot but are uncontested. Zachary Orr is running unopposed for sheriff, Natalie Roseberry is running unopposed for county clerk and Nicole McDonald is running unopposed for supervisor of assessments.

The primary election will take place Tuesday, March 17, with winners advancing to the general election scheduled for November 3.
