PITTSFIELD — A popular Pittsfield Easter tradition is returning with a new route and added excitement, as the Pittsfield Golf Cart Club prepares for its annual Easter Parade and Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt.
The parade is set for Saturday, March 28 at 11:00 a.m., with a rain date scheduled for Sunday, March 29 at 1:00 p.m. Organizers say anyone with a golf cart, ATV, side-by-side, or Jeep is welcome to participate, including local businesses and community groups.
Participants are asked to line up at the Pittsfield High School west parking lot no later than 30 minutes before the parade begins. Due to ongoing work around the city square, this year’s parade route will follow a different path, traveling north from the high school on Monroe Street, west on Fayette, then south on Madison before ending back at the high school.
In addition to the parade, the Pittsfield Golf Cart Club is once again hosting its annual Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt. Three eggs will be hidden within Pittsfield city limits, with separate age groups including 0 to 5, 6 to 10, and 11 through adult. Clues began being released on March 16 through the Pittsfield Illinois Golf Cart Club Facebook page.
Organizers say the three winners will each receive a new bicycle.
Community members are encouraged to follow the Pittsfield Illinois Golf Cart Club Facebook page for updates, clues, and additional information leading up to the event.
