PITTSFIELD — The Pittsfield Golf Cart Club is preparing for its annual Easter celebration later this month, featuring a community parade and a citywide scavenger hunt with bicycles awarded to winners.

The club’s Easter Parade is scheduled for Saturday, March 28 at 11:00 a.m., with a rain date set for Sunday, March 29 at 1:00 p.m. Organizers say the event is open to anyone who wants to participate, including individuals, businesses, and community groups with golf carts, ATVs, side-by-sides, or Jeeps.

Participants should line up at the Pittsfield High School west parking lot no later than 30 minutes before the parade begins, with larger vehicles forming behind the golf carts.

Because of construction work on the Pittsfield square, the parade will follow a different route this year. The lineup will travel north from Pittsfield High School on Monroe Street, west on Fayette Street, then south on Madison Street before ending back at the high school.

The Pittsfield Golf Cart Club is also organizing its annual Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt, which will take place within the Pittsfield city limits. Organizers say three eggs will be hidden around town, with separate age groups including 0-5, 6-10, and 11 through adult.

The first clues for the scavenger hunt will be posted Monday, March 16 on the Pittsfield Illinois Golf Cart Club Facebook page, where participants can follow updates and hints. Each of the three winners will receive a new bicycle.

Organizers say both the parade and scavenger hunt are meant to bring the community together and create a fun Easter tradition for local families.
