LOUISIANA -- A proposed increase to trash service fees may be headed for a vote soon.

According to a public post from a City of Louisiana Ward 1 representative, the city has received a request from Dayne’s Waste Disposal to raise the trash service fee by 65 cents per customer, per billing cycle. The company reportedly cited increased fuel costs tied to rising gas prices as the reason for the request.

The Ward 1 representative said they are opposed to the proposed increase and asked residents to weigh in before the matter comes up for possible action.

If approved, the change would add 65 cents to each customer’s trash service charge every billing cycle. While the individual increase would be small, the proposal comes at a time when many residents continue watching household costs closely.

Residents who want to share their opinion are encouraged to contact City Hall or their city representatives before any vote is taken.
