ROODHOUSE WOMAN KILLED IN CRASH

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — A Greene County woman was killed Thursday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident in Springfield.

Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon says the 69-year-old woman from Roodhouse was pronounced dead at HSHS St. John’s Hospital at about 2:45 p.m., shortly after arriving in the emergency room.

The crash happened at South 7th Street and East Laurel Drive.

The woman’s identity was being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

An autopsy was planned for Friday.

The accident remains under investigation by the Sangamon County Coroner’s Office and Springfield Police.
