SEVERAL MAJOR ARRESTS REPORTED IN PIKE COUNTY DURING PAST WEEK

PIKE COUNTY, Ill. — The Pike County Jail’s weekly arrest report for August 10 through August 16 includes several arrests involving felony-level or otherwise significant charges.


Among the most serious cases, Lukasz W. Czarnik, 33, of Schiller Park, was booked August 12 on multiple charges, including aggravated battery involving the use of a deadly weapon, reckless conduct causing bodily harm or endangering safety, reckless driving, attempted theft involving property valued between $500 and $10,000, and criminal trespass to a vehicle. The report also lists traffic-related charges stemming from the same case.


Shawn T. Nichols, 59, of Osage Beach, Missouri, was booked August 14 by the Pike County Sheriff’s Department on two counts of forgery involving the issuing or delivery of a document and two counts of theft.


Two people were booked in separate controlled-substance cases handled by Pittsfield Police. Michele N. Theivagt, 43, of Plainview, was booked August 13 on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. Dustin W. Huggins, 44, also of Plainview, was booked the same day on a separate controlled-substance possession charge.


Earlier in the week, Catherine L. Bonds, 61, of Pittsfield, was booked August 11 by Pittsfield Police on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The arrest report also lists an improper-turn violation in connection with that arrest.


The weekly jail report included a number of additional bookings involving warrants, body attachments and lower-level offenses. RiverNewsLive is highlighting the more significant criminal allegations from the report.

All individuals listed are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
