PITTSFIELD — A wide range of weather conditions are expected across the Twin Pikes region as a system moves through the Midwest, bringing the potential for snow, a wintry mix and rain showers across the WBBA listening area.
Forecasters indicate the best chances for accumulating snow will remain north of the immediate Twin Pikes area, while portions of Pike County Illinois, Pike County Missouri and surrounding communities could see a mix of precipitation before changing over to rain. Areas farther south toward the St. Louis region are expected to see primarily showers.
Within the WBBA coverage area, residents should be prepared for rapidly changing conditions depending on location. Northern sections of west central Illinois may experience brief periods of snow, while communities closer to the Mississippi River corridor could see a mix of rain and snow before temperatures moderate.
Another potential snow chance is being monitored for Sunday, March 2, as colder air lingers across parts of the region. Travelers are encouraged to monitor updated forecasts and road conditions, especially during early morning and evening hours when temperatures are cooler.
WBBA will continue to track the system and provide updates as conditions evolve across the Twin Pikes coverage area.
