PIKE COUNTY ILLINOIS — Spring Pickin Days are set to take place across Pike County Illinois, but this year’s event will look much different than in the past.

Organizers say the event is not being centrally coordinated this year, leading to confusion about participation and locations.

The Spring Shop Hop is not replacing Spring Pickin Days, but not all locations are taking part, and there is no official list, map, or funding behind the event. Instead, participation is being handled individually by businesses, communities, and residents.

That means most activity will consist of town-to-town yard sales and locally organized events, rather than a single coordinated countywide experience.

Officials also note that Pittsfield will largely be unable to participate due to ongoing courthouse-area construction, making it difficult to host events in that part of town.

Anyone planning to host food stands is reminded to contact the local health department and obtain proper permission before setting up.
