CARROLLTON — Two Greene County men were sentenced Friday to prison terms in separate felony cases, according to the Greene County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Nicholas A. Williams, 33, was sentenced to a total of 14 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to three counts of child pornography, all Class 2 felonies. Court records show Williams received consecutive sentences of five years on two counts and four years on a third count, for a combined total of 14 years.

Prosecutors said the charges stemmed from Williams’ possession of multiple video depictions of minors under the age of 13 engaged in sexual acts. The material was uncovered during a criminal investigation involving digital forensic work.

Greene County State’s Attorney Craig M. Grummel credited Special Investigator Larry Rayburn of the Illinois Attorney General’s Office, along with assisting agencies, for their work on the case. The case was prosecuted by the Greene County State’s

Attorney’s Office, and the Honorable Allison Lorton presided.

In a separate case, Nicholas Bridgewater, 42, was sentenced to five years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to unlawful possession of methamphetamine, a Class 3 felony. Authorities said Bridgewater knowingly possessed less than five grams of a substance containing methamphetamine.

Bridgewater received credit for time served and was recommended for substance abuse treatment programming while in custody. The sentence was also imposed by Judge Allison Lorton.

The Greene County State’s Attorney’s Office thanked the Roodhouse Police Department and other local law enforcement agencies for their work in the methamphetamine case, noting the importance of collaboration in addressing repeat offenders and drug-related crime.
