SILEX, Mo. — New weight restriction signs have been installed on a bridge along Route H in Lincoln County Missouri, north of Route PP near Silex.
The Missouri Department of Transportation has posted a 20-ton limit for single-unit vehicles and a 35-ton limit for combination vehicles, including tractor-trailers, on the bridge over Buck Creek. The updated load posting follows the department’s routine bridge inspection process and reflects revised calculations in accordance with Federal Highway Administration guidance.
The new weight limits will remain in effect until the bridge is replaced. At this time, no replacement schedule has been announced. The bridge had previously been posted at 19 tons with a 15 mile-per-hour speed restriction.
According to MoDOT, approximately 244 vehicles cross the structure each day.
Drivers are encouraged to observe all posted weight limits and signage in the area. Motorists can check current roadway conditions and project updates through the MoDOT Traveler Information Map or by contacting the department’s customer service center.
